Representing Integrals

To represent an integral the symbol ∫ is used. The following general formula to integrate any expression using function notation is:

For integrating polynomial functions, you integrate the terms one at a time. This can be written as:

Finding c

You can find the constant of integration c if you are given a point (x,y) in which the curve of the function passes through or you are given a value that the function takes. Below is a summary of steps you should remember in order to find c:
