Modelling with Differentiation

dy/dx represents the rate of change of y with respect to x. If y and x is replaced with any two other variables, it is possible to model many real life situation involving rates of changes.

Also as differentiation can be used to find minimum and maximum stationary points of a function, this concept can also be assessed in modelling questions, finding the minimum or maximum values of quantities and proving that they are minimum or minimum.

Note: For these questions, ensure you understand the question well. Draw a clear diagram or add to the given diagram and annotate. To help, underlining key words is important, as they make sure you don't miss uncessary details. Lastly, if you are unable to do the first show that part, move to the next part; you can do the next part as you can just use what is given in part a.
